A woman was rushed to hospital Tuesday morning after she became trapped under a pickup truck, after the bike she was riding was hit by the vehicle in the city’s southeast.
Police said officers were called to Coronet Road at 86 Street at about 8 a.m. Monday, after reports of a pedestrian and vehicle collision came in.
Officers arrived to a 21-year-old female cyclist trapped under the truck.
According to witness reports, the cyclist was riding southbound on the east sidewalk of 86 Street, before entering the intersection to cross Coronet Road.
Meanwhile, a truck headed westbound on Coronet Road tried to turn northbound onto 86 Street, when it’s alleged the cyclist was hit.
Emergency crews were called and managed to remove the cyclist from under the truck.
The woman suffered minor injuries, was treated on the scene and taken to hospital as a precaution.
No charges have been laid.
