Idle No More protestors surprised shoppers at Kingsway Garden Mall with a flashmob Saturday.

Hundreds turned out to show their support for the grassroots movement.

Demonstrators said they have concerns about Bill C-45 and believe it infringes on First Nations rights.

The movement also shows support for Chief Theresa Spence who has been fasting to draw national attention to the issue.

“Today, people across Canada are doing something in solidarity with her,” local organizer Damian Abrahams said.

He explained that awareness was the main goal of the flashmob event.

“We have some brochures here. We have some signs that are going to be posted up along the dance route so people will know that we’re here.”
