RCMP in central Alberta have laid charges against a Sylvan Lake man, after he was arrested on warrants, with counterfeit currency in his possession.
Red Deer RCMP said officers were called to G.H. Dawe Centre just after 1 p.m. July 26, where they found a man who was wanted on a number of outstanding warrants.
The suspect was arrested without incident, and police found and seized a number of counterfeit U.S. $20 and $50 bills.
Now, Brett Thomas Lust, 28, is facing a number of charges including possession of counterfeit money, two counts of failure to comply with recognizance, and a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
The accused is expected to appear in a Red Deer courtroom on August 11.
