One person is dead after a vehicle slammed into the side of a south Edmonton store early Friday morning.
Around 2:30am, a car struck a cement wall at Walmart garden centre, at South Edmonton Common, and caught fire.
When fire rescue officials arrived, they found the vehicle engulfed in flames, "after the fire had been put out we found that there was one person deceased inside the vehicle," said Staff Sgt. Warren Driechel.
At this point in the investigation, officials are unsure exactly what caused the crash.
The identity of the person is unknown.
