Edmonton police are investigating, after firefighters discovered a human body in the backyard of a home late Thursday night.
Firefighters were first called to the home, located on 98 Street and 81 Avenue at about 11 p.m. Thursday.
The blaze was under control within fifteen minutes.
However, a short time later, police were called in because a body was found in the backyard.
Police said an autopsy was conducted Friday, and the Medical Examiner determined the man’s death was the result of the fire – police are still trying to confirm whether the death was suspicious.
The deceased had not yet been identified Friday afternoon.
