The young man who is facing charges in a recent triple homicide near Edson was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, but he remains in hospital.
Mickell Clayton Bailey, 19, is facing two charges of first degree murder and a charge of second degree murder in the deaths of Roxanne Berube, 36, Jazmine Lyon, 16 and Daniel Miller, 46.
The three were found Sunday, December 29, when officers were called to a home located east of Edson.
On Tuesday, December 1, officers were executing an arrest warrant for Bailey when the suspect was shot by police – he was taken to hospital in Edmonton, no one else was injured.
In an Edson courtroom Tuesday, an agent for Bailey’s lawyer said the accused was in Alberta Hospital, and would not be entering a plea.
During brief court proceedings the Crown was also granted an order prohibiting the accused from contacting more than half a dozen people – no reason was given for that application.
