A man living in Edmonton on a work visa has been charged with sexually assaulting a girl in Saskatchewan.

RCMP were called to Jonas Samson junior high school in Meadow Lake, 295 km northwest of Saskatoon, on Thursday morning, after a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area.

Officers arrested a man who they say had been in with a female student both in person and via the Internet. Investigators have not released the nature of the contact, which they allege took place over a few months.

Torsten Senf, 37, a German citizen, is charged with Internet luring, sexual assault and sexual interference.

Senf appeared in court in Meadow Lake Friday afternoon and remains in police custody.

Senf is a German citizen who is in Canada on a work visa.
