RCMP west of Edmonton have laid a number of charges against a man in his 30s – in connection to a series of frauds, throughout Alberta, dating back to June.
Spruce Grove/Stony Plain RCMP said Jarrid Siebenga, 33, of Edmonton has been charged with 23 counts of fraud and breach of conditions.
Its alleged Siebenga committed frauds in a number of communities in Alberta, including Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, Two Hills, Sherwood Park, Leduc, Westlock and Edmonton.
Police said a search warrant was executed at a motel in Two Hills on June 25 – where officers seized hundreds of pieces of ID, including credit cards, SIN cards, drivers licenses and passports.
It’s estimated the loss to six businesses to be in excess of $30,000.
A number of other police detachments are also investigating, and further charges have been laid against the accused.
Siebenga remains in custody – it’s not yet known when he will appear in court.
