Days after tickets to a series of Garth Brooks concerts at Rogers Place in Edmonton were quickly snapped up, a sixth date was added.

Early Monday morning, it was announced that Brooks would perform at Rogers Place for a sixth time on Saturday, February 25, 2017.

On Friday, tickets for Brooks’ show on February 18, 2017 went on sale, and four other concerts were added: February 17, matinees on February 18 and 19, and another evening show on February 19.

Before 11 a.m. Friday, ticket sales for those five concerts broke Brooks’ previous sales record in Edmonton. That record was set in August, 1996, for his concert at Northlands Coliseum when 50,871 tickets were sold.

Ticket sales on Friday surpassed 51,000.

Tickets for the sixth show will be sold through Ticketmaster starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 15.
