RCMP in Fort Saskatchewan said Friday that the human remains found inside a burned-out vehicle found earlier in January had been identified.
Back on January 10, 2016, human remains were found inside a burned-out white 2013 BMW 328i two-door coupe, in the area of Township Road 572 between Range Roads 201 and 202.
On Friday, police confirmed the identity of the human remains is 38-year-old Junior Morris Laidley, who was reported missing January 13, 2016.
RCMP said confirmation of his identity was made with help from the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy was completed on January 15.
RCMP are asking for help determining Laidley’s activities in the days leading up to the car being found – he was last seen by friends on January 4.
Laidley is described as:
- Black male
- 168 cm (5’6”) tall
- 89 kg (196 lbs) in weight
- Black hair
- Brown eyes
Anyone who had contact with Laidley in the days before his remains were found is asked to call the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP detachment at 780-992-6100.
Plus, anyone with information that could help police in this investigation is asked to call RCMP, or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
