RCMP said the mechanical inspection of a bus that crashed through two backyards in St. Albert Tuesday evening had been completed, but the cause of the crash had not been determined.

St. Albert RCMP said the inspection found there were no mechanical problems with the St. Albert Transit bus before or at the time of the crash – the bus was in good mechanical repair at the time of the crash.

On Tuesday after 6 p.m., a bus crashed through two backyards in the area of Haviland Crescent in St. Albert.

It’s believed the bus was heading northeast on Heritage drive, when it left the road, collided with a fence and shed, before continuing through another backyard, and a trampoline, and another fence.

The bus came to a stop after hitting the back deck of the second home.

The driver of the bus was the only individual on the bus at the time of the crash; he suffered minor injuries in the collision.

The investigation continues.
