EDMONTON -

A man was seriously hurt in a crash with an Edmonton LRT Wednesday morning.

It's not known how the collision occurred at 66 Street and Fort Road.

Authorities said he was in his late 20s or 30s.

Alberta Health Services described his condition as critical and life threatening. 

"We take the safety of our passengers and staff seriously, and are concerned about any incident involving a collision. Our thoughts are with the individuals and staff involved in this incident. We appreciate the assistance of police, fire and medical staff who helped on site. ETS is working closely with the Edmonton Police Service as it investigates the collision," Edmonton Transit Service said in a statement. 

Bus service replaced LRT service between the Coliseum and Clareview stations until early afternoon.
