In a last ditch effort to stop the carbon tax set to kick in the new year, a conservative online media outlet organized a rally at the Alberta legislature to protest the new law, and Rachel Notley.

The Rebel Media printed and provided signs for the protest, and even paid for bus fares to bring supporters from Calgary and Red Deer.

“The Rebel is not just journalism and commentary, we’re activism too,” Ezra Levant said. “And we believe in putting our money where our mouth is, so we organized this mainly through the internet, we emailed people, got some busses going, people chipped in.”

Wildrose leader Brian Jean accepted an invitation from The Rebel, and spoke to the crowds.

“I’m happy to speak to your listeners,” Jean said. “I’m happy to speak to rebel listeners. The truth is I’m happy to speak to all Albertans right across Alberta and to listen to them too.”
