Highway conditions in northern Alberta a have improved, according to RCMP. Highway 881, 36, 55, 663, and 858 are now listed in fair condition. On Saturday, police issued a travel advisory, saying roads were not suitable for driving.
The warning was issued after RCMP responded to several crashes in the Lac La Biche area, including three fatal collisions.
Drivers were also asked to avoid Highway 63 north of Wandering River. Officials said the highway was slick, causing many drivers to lose control.
While conditions have now been upgraded to fair, police are reminding drivers that some sections of the road are still partially snow covered, and there may be sections of black ice. Caution is encouraged.
