Newly released court documents reveal RCMP believe they have evidence linking accused Travis Vader to the disappearances and deaths of Lyle and Marie McCann.
Lyle and Marie McCann disappeared five years ago, the St. Albert couple was last seen driving to visit family in B.C.
In the documents, investigators allegeTravis Vader killed Lyle and Marie McCann on July 3, 2010 – he was most recently re-arrested on two charges of first-degree murder related to this case on December 19, 2014.
The couple’s motorhome was found burned out east of Edson, and their SUV was found in another location, also near Edson.
Court documents revealed some items found in the SUV were consistent with harm done to the couple – including Marie McCann’s blood and Lyle McCann’s hat, found with a bullet hole in it.
Documents also revealed Vader used the McCann’s cell phone at 2 p.m. on July 3.
These details have not been proven in court.
Vader’s trial is set to start on March 7, 2016.
