One person has died following a collision near Bon Accord.
RCMP said they responded to the incident on Highway 28 near the Highway 803 intersection around 11:40 p.m. Friday.
According to police the collision happened between a southbound pickup truck and a northbound semi-truck and trailer.
Officials said the pickup truck caught fire following the collision and the male driver was pulled out by witnesses at the scene.
The male driver of the semi was extricated by Fire and Rescue workers.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. He passed away Saturday morning.
The driver of the semi suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Officials have not released the name of the victim and the investigation continues.
Morinville and Sturgeon County Fire and Rescue and Alberta Health Emergency Medical Services also responded.
