The man accused in the disappearance and murder of Lyle and Marie McCann is back in police custody.
The RCMP confirms that Travis Vader was arrested Saturday night at a rural residence near Edson.
RCMP said around 10:30 p.m. a resident called police after he noticed a truck he didn’t recognize drive onto his property.
When police arrived, they found Vader alone in the vehicle.
“[RCMP] found the driver was under court conditions and in addition to that gathered evidence of a dangerous driving pattern,” RCMP Spokesperson Sharon Franks told CTV News in a phone interview.
“I think it’s safe to say that at some point in the encounter with the RCMP we were able to gather enough evidence to charge him with dangerous driving.”
Vader is charged with six counts of breaching his bail conditions and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Vader was out on bail while awaiting trial for first degree murder.
A court date for the new charges has been set for March 17, 2015.
Police say Vader has been remanded in custody and will next appear in court via CCTV.
