Another current member of City Council has shed light on his plans heading into fall’s municipal election.
Councillor Ben Henderson announced Thursday that he would seek reelection in his southeast Edmonton ward.
“I’m proud of the work that we have done in creating a long term plan for this city and I’m committed to fulfilling that vision,” Henderson said in a press release.
Henderson has sat on council for six years.
He’s the latest current member of city council to go public with his election plans, last week, Ward 12 Councillor Amarjeet Sohi announced he would seek reelection in his southeast Edmonton ward.
In mid-May, current Councillor Kerry Diotte announced his intention to seek election as mayor.
Meanwhile, two long-time members of council have announced the current term will be their last in City Hall.
Councillor Jane Batty announced earlier this week that she would not seek reelection after 12 years on council.
That announcement came less than two weeks after Mayor Stephen Mandel announced he would not seek reelection.
Edmontonians will go to the polls October 21.
