2 pedestrians struck in east Edmonton: EPS
Edmonton Police Service closed an area near 50 Street and 101 Avenue around noon on Sept. 10, 2021, after two people were struck in a hit-and-run.

Two elderly pedestrians were hurt in a hit-and-run Friday afternoon, police say.
Edmonton Police Service closed an area near 50 Street and 101 Avenue at approximately 12:15 p.m.
A police spokesperson said a 2017 Honda Civic was headed north on 50 Street when the driver attempted to turn west onto 101 Avenue.
The driver turned into oncoming traffic and collided with an SUV headed south before she made a U-turn at the intersection to also go south on 50 Street, EPS said.
That's when police say the vehicle hit an elderly man and woman walking across 101 Avenue.
A 76-year-old man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and a 75-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The vehicle fled the scene. Police say the 16-year-old female driver left the car at another location before she returned to the scene in a friend’s vehicle two hours later.
Charges are pending against the teen.
The road is now open.
