Police have laid charges against an employee at a west Edmonton store after she allegedly stole more than $124,000 through debit theft.

Investigators believe 46-year-old Marilyn Ann Groves allegedly performed several transactions between Aug. and Dec. 2008 where customer information was used to refund purchases to her debit card.

The alleged transactions are believed to total more than $124,000.

Police have not released the name of the store the woman worked at, but there is a Home Depot at the address police provided.

Groves has been charged with theft.
