Edmonton police have laid numerous charges, including first degree murder, against three suspects in Friday’s killings of two convenience store clerks.

Laylin Delorme, 24, Colton Steinhauer, 27, and a 13-year-old boy have all been charged with two counts of first degree murder, robbery with a prohibited restricted firearm and disguised with intent.

Delorme has also been charged with dangerous driving and criminal flight.

Early Friday morning, police received a panic call from a Mac's Convenience Store at 32 Avenue and 82 Street. When officers arrived on scene they found a man who had been shot.

Karanpal Singh Bhangu, 35, was rushed to hospital but died shortly after from his injuries.

About 15 minutes after the first incident, police received a call that a store clerk was injured at another Mac's store at 108 Street and 61 Avenue.

Ricky Massin Cenabre, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cenabre moved to Canada from the Philippines a few years ago. A friend tells CTV News the 41-year-old had a common-law wife and a 16-year-old kid. A local car dealership has set up a GoFundMe page in his memory to help his family.

“This was a barbaric and gratuitous act of violence upon two innocent persons resulting in a senseless loss of life,” said Edmonton Police Service Chief Rod Knecht on Friday.

“They (the victims) were passive. There was no threat from either victim. Based on evidence, they were fully cooperative and they weren't aggressive. They did not fight back. In fact I would suggest they did not expect to be executed."

In a statement, Mac’s Convenience Stores Vice-President for western Canada, Bonnie Birollo, said that it was a sad day for the company.

“My heart aches for the many lives impacted by this tragedy and especially for the families of the two victims," said Birollo.
