Edmonton Eskimo Adam Braidwood's court case has been put over. The DT was scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault and forcible confinement.

The charge of forcible confinement has now been dropped and replaced with a charge of hostage taking.

Last Friday, a witness reported to police they saw a young man being forced into the trunk of a car in Spruce Grove.

Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle on Range Road 272, north of Township Road 520.

Police say they saw two men standing outside the vehicle and two males were sitting inside the vehicle. One of the males standing outside of the vehicle had no shirt on and appeared to have significant injuries to his arms and legs.

The 20-year-old male victim from Stony Plain was taken to an Edmonton area hospital for non-life-threatening injures.

Braidwood was arrested at the scene along with 25-year-old Shane Bergstrom, and 23-year-old Taylor Kurtz.

All three have been released on cash bail.

Braidwood and Bergstrom are both now charged with aggravated assault and hostage taking, while Kurtz is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
