A restaurant in west Edmonton is back open for customers, days after it was forced to shut down by inspectors.

Piccolino Bistro, located on 91 Avenue and 142 Street was forced to close on September 19.

An inspection report posted online said the building was infested with cockroaches, there was evidence of voles and mice, and the facility had not been kept in a sanitary state.

The order called on the owners to clean all food contact surfaces and equipment, and to implement a pest management program to get rid of the cockroaches.

The closure order was lifted on September 23.
