CTV News has learned that a plea bargain has likely been worked out in the case of two men charged in the murders of four RCMP officers.

Shawn Hennessey and Dennis Cheeseman were scheduled to start their trial in April, but they now are scheduled to appear in an Edmonton court Monday morning.

Each man faces four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of RCMP constables Brock Myrol, Peter Schiemann, Leo Johnston and Anthony Gordon. The four were ambushed and shot by James Roszko on a farm near Mayerthorpe in March 2005. Roszko later killed himself.

Police alleged Hennessey and Cheeseman help Roszko carry out the crimes.

The pair have always maintained their innocence.

It is expected the two men will plead guilty to manslaughter.
