Police said an investigation was underway into a suspicious death in northeast Edmonton.
According to the Edmonton Police Service, police were notified after an elderly man showed up at a medical clinic in northeast Edmonton looking for help for his brother.
Officers went to the home in the area of 65 Street and 137 Avenue at about 6:15 a.m. Friday – when they arrived, officers found a deceased man with signs of trauma.
“Nobody has to be worried that this is a, we’re not thinking we have some random person breaking into houses or anything like that,” Staff Sgt. Bill Clark with the EPS Homicide Section said.
“If anything happened, it happened inside the house and it does look like it would be people that would be associated to this address, if there’s any other people involved.”
The EPS Homicide Section has taken over the investigation, and an autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 20.
Police said the brother who reported the incident is being cooperative, and is not under arrest.
The death will be treated as suspicious until the autopsy determines the cause of death.
