Fire crews were called out after a fire destroyed a favourite food truck Friday morning.
Bubbas BBQ and Smokehouse was parked at 4903 Gateway Boulevard Thursday when the blaze broke out just before 8 p.m.
Investigator John Yaschuck said the trailer was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived but they were able to quickly extinguish it.
Yaschuk also said the fire was deemed accidental.
“At this time the investigators were able to determine that a control knob to the charbroil was left in the on position and the fats and build up ignited,” he explained.
The damage was estimated to be around $125,000.
Around 1:30 a.m. Friday, fire crews responded to a second call of flames in the truck.
Acting Fire Captain, Jake Deglow said they found some hot spots in the trailer but no fire.
“We have technology with our heat sensing cameras and using those we were able to determine a couple of areas that were possibly showing some heat.
“There was no actual burning taking place.”
No injuries were reported and investigators have advised the public to stay away from the truck as it poses a safety hazard.
