Edmonton officials announced Tuesday that seven soccer games will be held on local soccer pitches in August, 2014 as part of the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The tournament, which will run between August 5 and 24, 2014, is set to include 32 matches with 16 international teams.
The other games will be held in the three other host cities, Moncton, Montreal, and Toronto.
One of the seven games to be held in Edmonton will a quarter-final match, all of them held over four days of competition.
Those seven games will take place a year ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada – when Edmonton will host a total of 11 games, including the opening match, the bronze medal game, a semi-final, quarter-finals and group matches.
