A northeast Edmonton resident says he's been living with no heat in his apartment for the past six weeks with no attempt from his landlord to fix the problem.

Michael Longmuir claims the heat has not been working in his apartment and his thermostat has been sitting at a chilly 15 degrees since mid November.

Longmuir says he has contacted MacDonald Realty, the building owners, but has gotten no response and has been forced to dress in multiple layers to stay warm at home.

"I pretty much would rather have another place because it's detrimental to my kid's health," he said.

Phone calls made by CTV News to the management company have not been returned.

Capital Health says they have not been notified of the problem.
