RCMP northwest of Edmonton are investigating, after a fatal highway collision took place just after noon Monday.
Mayerthorpe RCMP were called to the two vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 43 and Range Road 80 in the County of Lac Ste. Anne at about 12:30 p.m. Monday.
Police said a man was driving a pickup truck westbound on Highway 43, when it’s alleged the male driver of another pickup truck headed southbound on the Range Road failed to yield, crossing into the path of the first vehicle.
The male driver and his female passenger who were inside the westbound vehicle died as a result of the crash.
The driver and lone occupant of the second car was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Weather and road conditions are being considered as contributing factors to the crash, alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
RCMP are still investigating the crash.
