Police are investigating a collision that sent a woman to hospital with life-threatening injuries Tuesday evening.

Police were called to the scene near 152 Avenue and 127 Street at 9:10 p.m.

The crash involved a 36-year-old female pedestrian who was reportedly running across the roadway when a Jeep Wrangler, driven by a 27-year-old woman, was making a left turn into the Save-On-Foods parking lot, according to EPS.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital. "Her injuries are considered life-threatening,” EPS said in a statement.

The Major Collision Unit is investigating the incident. Police believe a sun glare may have been a contributing factor.

The intersection remained closed for a portion of the evening.
