Edmonton police are investigating after a man was found seriously injured early Wednesday morning in the city’s northeast.

It’s believed a fight broke out at a home on 54 Street and 118 Avenue, neighbours told CTV News the fight spilled out onto the street.

Police said multiple calls came in to 911 at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene to find a man with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

At last word, police said an autopsy had not yet been scheduled.

Later, police remained on the scene, focusing their investigation on a house neighbours said was known to police.

One person was taken into custody for questioning; police said they had no suspects in custody.

If this case is deemed to be a homicide, it would be the 30th of 2017 in Edmonton.
