A man, suspected in connection to the stabbing death of a man in his 20s Tuesday afternoon, has been arrested and charged.

On Tuesday, at about 4:45 p.m., officers from Mayerthorpe RCMP and paramedics were called to a reported stabbing on the Alexis First Nation Reserve.

The victim, identified as Warren Potts, 23, was pronounced dead when emergency crews arrived.

Investigators from the Edmonton Major Crimes Unit were called in, and took over the investigation – and the half-brother of the victim, Nakoa Potts, 27, was identified as a suspect.

Potts was arrested Wednesday afternoon, and charged with first degree murder.

Police said they’re not seeking any more suspects, but the investigation continues.
