Pedestrian hit by vehicle on north side roadway, in hospital with serious injuries

Edmonton police said a section of major road on the north side had been shut down Thursday afternoon, as officers investigated a collision that left a female pedestrian in hospital.
Just before 3:30 p.m. Thursday, police said a section of 137 Avenue, in both directions, between 113A Street and 127 Street had been closed.
Police said they were investigating a collision where a female pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.
Paramedics treated her and took her to hospital with serious injuries.
The road is expected to be closed for hours as police investigate – drivers are advised to avoid the area.
