Police in central Alberta are searching for the man who allegedly tried to lure a young boy into his vehicle late last week.
Red Deer RCMP said it’s believed the suspect tried to lure a four-year-old boy into his vehicle in the Anders neighbourhood on July 3 at about 5:30 p.m.
RCMP said the reported incident took place as the boy was playing in his yard, it was reported the man approached the boy, told him he was a taxi driver, and offered to take the boy to the beach.
However, police said when the boy went to his mother, the man left – the little boy wasn’t hurt.
The suspect is described as:
- Aged in his late 20s, early 30s
- Hair in dreadlocks
- Described as having darker skin
The suspect’s vehicle is described as:
- A white SUV crossover, with a black stripe
- Roof rack, described as unusual
RCMP also released a composite sketch of the suspect.
