A list of Alberta hospitals with masking requirements
Alberta Health Services says enhanced masking requirements are in place at the following hospitals:
- Royal Alexandra Hospital (implemented Oct. 13)
- University of Alberta Hospital and the Stollery Children’s Hospital (implemented Oct. 16)
- Misericordia Community Hospital (implemented Oct. 16)
- Grey Nuns Community Hospital (implemented Oct. 16)
- Alberta Hospital Edmonton (implemented Oct. 16)
- Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital (implemented Oct. 16)
- Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre (implemented Oct. 16)
- Cross Cancer Institute (implemented Oct. 20)
- Devon General Hospital (implemented Oct 24)
- Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital (implemented Oct 24)
- Northeast Community Health Centre (implemented Oct 24)
- Leduc Community Hospital (implemented Oct 24)
- Strathcona Community Hospital (implemented Oct 24)
- Westview Health Centre (implemented Oct 24)
- Sturgeon Community Hospital (implemented Oct. 26)
- East Edmonton Health Centre (EEHC) Urgent Care Centre (implemented Oct. 27)
- Drumheller Health Centre (implemented Nov. 3)
- Daysland Health Centre (implemented Nov. 4)

The requirements are also in place at the Central Alberta Cancer Centre, which is located at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.
Staff, doctors, volunteers, and contracted workers must wear masks in all patient care areas, elevators, stairways, common areas, gift shops, cafeterias, and continuing care areas.
Masks are optional for workers where they are in an area where there is no contact with patients, such as break rooms.
Patients, visitors, and support persons are only required to wear masks in emergency departments and labour and delivery assessment and triage areas.
AHS says no patient will be denied services.
