The child psychiatrist was granted bail in an Edmonton courtroom Thursday morning.

Aaron Voon, 41, release conditions included a $75,000 cash bail.

Voon was arrested, according to police, for using a mobile device to record images from inside a washroom at the Scotiabank theatre in West Edmonton Mall on May 22. The incident was recorded by bystanders, and video was posted online showing the accused being detained by people at the theatre trying to see the man’s cellphone.

The accused has been charged with making child pornography, possession of child pornography and voyeurism.

As part of Voon’s bail conditions, he is not allowed a camera, cellphone or portable communication device capable of accessing internet or sending or receiving images. As well, he is forbidden contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Voon is able to return to Perth, Australia but has another court appearance related to his charges here in Edmonton on June 16.

There is a publication ban on several details related to this case.
