An explosion and fire at an Edmonton plastics plant Friday morning has sent several people to hospital.
Eyewitnesses nearby heard an explosion around 7:40 Friday morning. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene and quickly brought the situation under control.
The fire and explosion took place at AT Plastics, located at 4405-101 Avenue, near Edmonton's Refinery Row.
According to the AT Plastics website, the company is a leading North American manufacturer of specialty plastics and resins used in flexible product packaging, adhesives and medical products.
