More than a week after a van crashed into a St. Paul school, injured a number of students and left one dead – the family of one of the girls who was seriously injured is breaking its silence.

On Friday, the family of Angelina Luce, one of the two students seriously injured in the incident being treated in Edmonton released a statement, providing a brief update on her current condition.

The statement was released on behalf of the family by Alberta Health Services, and thanked the public for their support, the statement went on to say:

“Angelina is in stable condition but she still has a long journey to recovery ahead. Angelina misses her classmates and is in mourning for a dear friend and concerned for another. We simply ask that you keep all three families in your prayers and respect our privacy.”

The family also said they would not publicly share any more information on Angelina’s condition.

On Thursday, October 25 a minivan smashed into a classroom at Racette Junior High School in St. Paul.

A total of eight students were injured in the incident, three of those had to be airlifted to hospital in Edmonton.

The next day, one of the students, Megan Wolitski, 11, succumbed injuries she suffered in the collision.
