A serious investigation is underway in southern Alberta. Three people are confirmed dead and one person has been critically injured.
Two people were taken to hospital, but one has since died. The remaining female has undergone medical treatment and is expected to recover. Names have not been released, but police say all are in their early 20's. The relationships between the deceased and the injured are under investigation.
Highway 2 near Claresholm is shut down where investigators are working at the scene. The incident happened around 3 a.m. Thursday and involved two vehicles.
Investigators are looking into whether the incident was a murder suicide.
The deaths and injuries are believed to be from gunshots.
