A 39-year-old from Leduc has been arrested after allegedly threatening to blow up his own home.

Leduc RCMP were called to a home in the Caledonia neighbourhood at around 12:40 p.m. Saturday after threats were allegedly made regarding an explosion.

Police negotiated with the man for about ten minutes before he was taken into custody without incident. He was the only person in the house at the time.

Investigators say a propone tank and a jerrycan were seized from the home.

Neighbours were asked to shelter-in-place during the ordeal but no one was hurt.

The man remains in custody and charges are pending. Investigators say the man was known to police.
