One man is dead after an alleged early morning attack in downtown Edmonton.

City police say officers were flagged down by patrons of Hex Lounge, on 107 Street and 104 Avenue, before 2:00 a.m.

They found a man, in his early twenties, inside the lounge suffering from serious injuries. The victim was rushed to hospital, where he died.

Police are now speaking to witnesses. EPS Homicide investigators will be taking over the investigation.

There's no word yet on possible suspects.

The autopsy has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday.
