A 55-year-old man is dead following an altercation in the Samson Reserve Sunday morning, RCMP said.
Police responded to a report of an altercation at approximately 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers attempted to resuscitate a man in medical distress, but he succumbed to his injuries at a residence later.
RCMP Major Crimes South are investigating the homicide, and they have identified a person of interest.
Police do not believe this was a random event.
An autopsy will be conducted in Edmonton Monday.
