RCMP have confirmed that a 20-year-old man has died after a two vehicle collision near Rocky Mountain House on Saturday.
Rocky Mountain House RCMP say seven people were taken to hospital after the collision on Highway 11.
Police said a Ford Taurus with six occupants had been parked on the shoulder of the highway when a Ford pickup truck hit it.
Emergency services used the jaws of life to pull two of the car’s occupants free.
Injuries are believed to range from minor to serious.
RCMP said the highway was closed for four hours but no charges have been laid.
The incident is still under investigation.
Meanwhile an 18-year-old man has been injured after a vehicle rollover near Stettler.
The incident happened around 2:20 a.m. Saturday west of the Highway 11 and Highway 12 intersection.
The man was ejected from the Dodge Ram 2500 pickup and was taken to Red Deer Regional hospital in critical condition.
There were also three passengers in the vehicle who were taken to Stettler hospital.
Investigators said that fog and speed were factors in the rollover.
They added that the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
