Edmonton police are now investigating the city's second homicide of the year. Earlier this week, a man was fatally stabbed in the parking lot of a south side fast food restaurant.

The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Billy Canh Ho. Autopsy results show Ho was stabbed to death. Investigators initially told CTV News the victim was known to them.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning in the parking lot outside the McDonald's located at 51st Ave. and Calgary Trail around 2:30 a.m.

No arrests have been made at this point.

Police are appealing to local gas station employees working at stations in Edmonton, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain who may have sold fuel, a jerry can or container to anyone between 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. that morning.

Officers are also viewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses hoping to obtain clues.

Police are not saying whether the attack was random, drug or gang related.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 780-423-4567.
