Edmonton Police have arrested a man believed to be responsible for seven recent bank robberies and is now facing multiple charges.

Glenn Garry Fraser, 41, of Edmonton was arrested around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, as part of an on-going investigation. He has been charged with several offences including robbery, possession of stolen property over $5000, driving while suspended, and criminal flight.

Officers tracked the suspect to the area of 116 Avenue and 94 Street, where police say the suspect was spotted in a stolen 2008 Pontiac G5.

The first robbery occurred at a bank near Groat Road and 112 Avenue just before 8 p.m. on January 9th. The second took place the next morning at a bank near 111 Avenue and 163 Street.

The next, occurred on January 12th, at another financial institution near 155 Street and Stony Plain Road.

At that time police released surveillance images of the suspect.

Since then, four more robberies have taken place, also believed to be the work of the same suspect.

On January 16th, the same suspect robbed a bank near 66 Street and 118 Avenue, then another bank the next day near 87 Avenue and 156 Street.

The sixth robbery occurred January 19th at a bank near 137 Avenue and 93 Street, and the most recent occurred at Manning Crossing just after 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 21st.

In all of the robberies, the suspect entered the bank, passed a note to the teller indicating he had a gun, and demanded cash.
