Police in Boyle, Alberta are asking for the public’s help in finding an Olympic Champion ring belonging to a Canadian curler that was stolen over the weekend.

Boyle RCMP said at some point between June 20 and 21, two motel rooms are believed to have been broken into, including one Canadian skip Brad Jacobs was staying in.

The ring was taken along with other personal items while Jacobs was participating in the Bryan Mudryk Golf Classic in support of the Cross Cancer Institute.

The ring commemorates Team Canada’s success at the Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia earlier this year – it’s described as having a square face, curved around the edges, with the Olympic rings in the centre, in front of a maple leaf.

The face of the ring is inscribed with the words ‘Olympic Champions 2014’, and on the inside of the ring ‘Brad Jacobs Skip’ is engraved.

Anyone with information that could help police is asked to call Boyle RCMP at 780-689-3622. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
