One man is dead and another has been arrested following a reported shooting near Rochester, about 100 kilometres north of Edmonton, on Friday.
Athabasca RCMP officers arrived at the property around 10:20 p.m. on New Year’s Day following a report of a gun fired in the area. Investigators say one man was found dead and another man, known to the victim, was arrested for murder.
RCMP officers are still trying to determine what led to the man’s death.
Charges have yet to be laid and an autopsy has yet to be scheduled.
