Strathcona County RCMP are asking for help from the public to identify a suspect in a sexual assault that took place late Monday afternoon.

RCMP said on Monday, just before 5:30 p.m., a woman was walking on a path headed eastbound on Clover Bar Lane, when she was approached from behind by an unknown male.

Reports indicated the male grabbed her by the waist and took her into tall grass next to the path. RCMP said as she was being sexually assaulted she managed to break free, and call for help.

The suspect fled westbound up the path towards the lane, and the woman called police.

The suspect has been described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 183 cm (6’) tall
  • About 91 to 113 kg (200 to 250 lbs)
  • Fair complexion
  • Short brown hair, balding at the top

At the time, he was wearing a white golf shirt, blue jeans and skateboard-type shoes.
