• Bread – 10-12 slices, crusts cut off
  • Ham or bacon
  • 2 cups grated cheese (or more, if you like)
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp each diced green and red peppers
  • ¼ cup sweet onion
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • Dash of hot sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cornflakes

Line a 9 in. by 13 in. pan with one layer of bread slices, cover with bacon or ham, then grated cheese, followed by a second layer of bread slices.

In a bowl, whisk the eggs – then add the milk, peppers and onion, whisk in the Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, hot sauce, salt and pepper.

Pour the mixture over the bread layers.

You can chill the dish overnight, or freeze until you need it.

Before cooking, add a layer of crushed cornflakes to the top.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour.
