A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Central Alberta including the City of Edmonton.
Environment Canada issued the watch just before 10:30 a.m. Sunday for the following areas:
- Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park
- Spruce Grove, Morinville, Mayerthorpe, Evansburg
- Leduc, Camrose, Wetaskiwin, Tofield
- Fort Saskatchewan, Vegreville, Redwater, Smoky Lake
- Red Deer, Ponoka, Innisfail, Stettler
- Whitecourt, Edson, Fox Creek, Swan Hills
- Lloydminster, Wainwright, Vermilion, Provost

Environment Canada says severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds are possible for Sunday afternoon and into the evening.
